DR. MAYA GONZALES

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Maya Gonzales received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska in 2002, and Doctorate of Chiropractic from University of Western States in Portland, Oregon in 2006.  In 2012 she became board certified as a Chiropractic Sports Physician by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.  She is a certified Active Release Technique Elite Provider (ART-EP), and a certified level three Kinesio-tape practitioner.  Dr. Gonzales is a member of the Colorado Chiropractic Association, American Chiropractic Association (ACA), and the Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance (FTCA).

After graduating from University of Western States in June 2006, Dr. Gonzales opened a practice in Denver, Colorado.  Almost two years later, after living and working in Denver, she was offered a position at Mt. View Chiropractic and Wellness Center in Bonney Lake, Washington.  Mt. View Chiropractic and Wellness Center was an established practice with several practitioners including chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, nutrition, and naturopathic medicine.  Dr. Gonzales had the opportunity to become the Sports Medicine Chiropractor in the clinic from 2008 to 2014 and work with other first class practitioners.

Dr. Gonzales and her family had always planned on returning to Colorado in order to be closer to family, and to return to the Rocky Mountains. The active lifestyle of the Evergreen community and surrounding areas fits Dr. Gonzales' philosophy of practice and the kinds of cases she is passionate about treating.

Dr. Gonzales' treatment plans are based on one of her most important goals: Help her patients do the things they love without having to worry about musculoskeletal pain or imbalance.  She treats her patients’ symptoms, finds the root of the problem, and teaches them to become independent and avoid re-injury.  She works with her patients to get back to full and pain free activity as soon as possible, and she often finds her patients begin to pay more attention to their bodies and are able to identify problems and seek treatment in the early stages.  It is an exciting process.
